What the contact form collects, who processes it, how long we keep it, and how to make us delete it. Last updated March 2, 2026.

Who is responsible for your data

DeadheadMath is published by MLJ, SASU, a company registered in Paris, France under SIREN 934 769 837. MLJ, SASU is the data controller for the information described on this page. The publication director, Jimenez Julien, handles privacy requests personally and can be reached at jimenezjulien42@gmail.com. Full company details are on the legal notice.

What the contact form collects

The request form on the home page is the only place on this website where you can send us personal information. It collects exactly these fields, and nothing else: name (your full name), email (your work email address), company (your carrier or DBA name), role (the seat you occupy in the business, chosen from a list), request (what you want from us, chosen from a list), size (how many trucks you run, chosen from a list), message (the lane you describe in your own words) and consent (the checkbox recording that you agreed to this policy).

Three hidden fields travel with every submission for routing purposes: form-name, which tells the form handler which form was used, subject, which labels the notification email, and recipient, which is the address the notification is sent to. A field named bot-field is present but hidden from people; it exists to catch automated spam and should always arrive empty.

We do not ask for your MC number, your DOT number, your bank details or the contents of your settlements through this website. If you volunteer that kind of information inside the message box, please do not include account numbers or anything you would not put on a postcard.

Why we process it, and on what legal basis

We use what you send for one purpose: to answer you, arrange a call if you asked for one, and follow up on that conversation. Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation the legal basis is your consent, given by ticking the consent box, together with our legitimate interest in responding to a business enquiry that you started. We do not use the form data for advertising, and we do not build behavioral profiles from it.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with brokers, load boards, factoring companies or lead resellers. There is no advertising network, no retargeting pixel and no third party analytics cookie anywhere on this site. The site sets no cookie of its own beyond what is strictly required to serve the page.

Who processes submissions on our behalf

Form submissions are processed and stored by Netlify Forms, a service of Netlify, Inc., 512 2nd Street, Suite 200, San Francisco, CA 94107, United States, which also hosts this website. Netlify stores the submission, sends us a notification email and provides the interface where we read it. Netlify acts as our processor under a data processing agreement, and it may process the data on servers in the United States. Google Fonts serves the two typefaces used on this site, which means your browser requests font files from Google servers; no form content is involved in that request.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not turn into a customer relationship are deleted from the Netlify Forms inbox within twelve months of the last message exchanged. Enquiries that do become a customer relationship are kept for the life of the account and for three years after it closes, because they form part of the commercial record. Notification emails held in our mailbox follow the same schedule. You can ask for earlier deletion at any time and we will act on it.

International transfers

Because our hosting and form processing provider is based in the United States, personal data you submit is transferred outside the European Economic Area. Those transfers rely on the European Commission standard contractual clauses incorporated into the provider agreement, together with the technical measures the provider applies in transit and at rest. If you would prefer that your details never leave your own jurisdiction, send us an email instead of using the form and say so, and we will keep the exchange to correspondence only.

Your rights if you are in the United States

Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah and Virginia have the right to know what personal information we hold about them, to request a copy of it, to have it corrected, and to have it deleted. Residents of these states also have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. California residents may additionally ask us to confirm the categories of personal information collected and the purposes of collection. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross context behavioral advertising, so there is no opt out for those activities to offer. To make a request, email jimenezjulien42@gmail.com from the address you used on the form, or tell us which submission you are asking about.

Your rights under GDPR

If you are in the European Union, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right of access, the right to rectification, the right to erasure, the right to restrict processing, the right to object to processing based on legitimate interest, the right to data portability and the right to withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that took place before you withdrew it. Requests are answered within thirty days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority; in France that is the Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertes.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, and the security headers applied to every response are listed in the deployment configuration of this site. Access to the form inbox is limited to the publication director and protected by two factor authentication. We keep the number of people who can read submissions at one, because a smaller circle is the strongest control available to a small publisher.

Children

This site and the DeadheadMath service are aimed at commercial motor carriers and the people who run them. They are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under sixteen years of age. If you believe a child has sent us information through this site, write to us and we will delete it immediately.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, the revision date at the top of this page changes with it, and the previous version is available on request. Material changes that affect how we use existing submissions are announced by email to the address that submitted them. This policy was last updated on March 2, 2026.
